To receive payments through BankAxept, you must accept BankAxept’s new terms and conditions
Faster payments with contactless cards
Contactless cards make payments easier and faster. Purchases are completed in less than half a second, and the user is asked for the PIN code only if the purchase surpasses NOK200. Contactless payment is based on NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, enabling wireless communication between the card and the payment terminal by radio signals. The new contactless cards also retain traditional functionality.
It will soon become easier to receive payment online
New online payment service
Soon, Norwegian online stores will be able to offer customers a secure, frictionless and integral purchasing experience. With online payment from BankAxept, the customer never needs a card to pay. The purchase is quickly verified with a mobile phone.
The entire purchase takes place inside the online store, and the customer never needs to interact with external parties. The service enables the store to offer one-click payment, repeat payment, and subscriptions – as well as traditional shopping baskets.
The service will be available by the end of 2017.
Correct vendor branding
BankAxept has produced ready-to-use branding material to be used by all vendors who have signed BankAxept’s new terms and conditions.
Important information for vendors
Replacement of PCI 1.x terminals
In letters dated January 31, 2017, and July 8, 2014, Bits AS explained that manned payment terminals using the old security validation (1.X) from Payment Card Industry (PCI) must be replaced by December 31, 2017. This reflects a general demand in the market (from VISA and others). Following this date, these terminals will be closed for BankAxept services.
Bits AS has communicated about this with BankAxept, the banks and terminal distributors. Approximately 20.000 terminals are being replaced.
New card scheme regulations
On June 27, 2016, The Ministry of Finance published ”Forskrift om formidlingsgebyr i kortordninger”, regulating the use of fees in card schemes. These rules demand that BankAxept as well as vendors must make changes to the current practice.
